“Ecumenism is not an option it is an order.  It comes not from theologians, but from ‘Theos’.”        --- Pope John Paul II

Our Mission

The Ecumenical/Interfaith Committee seeks to bring and authentic ecumenical sprit and understanding to the ongoing renewal of the Secular Order.  In the Spirit of our Lord and our beloved St. Francis, we seek to foster the ministry of reconciliation in every part of our fraternal life, and thereby witness to the world our unique Franciscan charism and our prophetic witness to the unity of all creation.

The Committee will be a means of reflective, responsible and respectful dialogue and fraternal relationships with our non-Roman catholic sisters and brothers in light of the documents of the Church and our Constitutions.  Our task is thus to be an instrument of unity and understanding for the Franciscan family, challenging ourselves to bring a Franciscan focus to the ministry of Christian Unity, in the household of God, the Church, and among all our communities.
