EPE #2 - Environmental Peacemaking

An innate sense of pride and entitlement results in near-overwhelming sense of insult and disgust within you as you survey the litter which was deposited on your property last night. So insulted are you, that you refuse to pick it up….now, lift this situation up to God in prayer….the Holy Spirit will remind you of the insults that Jesus suffered in His ministry….gradually you will come to see that you are demonstrating solidarity with our Lord when you endure insults for His sake (not yours!!)…you swallow your pride and pick the litter up.

Extension: Your new-found sense of eco-penance convinces you to begin picking up litter where ever you go. As you work in this ministry, you constantly think of Jesus, and ask that your suffering be joined with His for the reparation of our environmental sins and for the conversion of environmental sinners.
